Admission prerequisites

There are several prerequisites for a successful application.

1. Requirement profiles

Formal prerequisites

To be eligible for admission to a Master's degree programme at ETH Zurich you need to have a high-quality Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 180 ECTS or an equivalent first academic degree from an internationally recognized university.

The degree must be in a discipline qualifying for the chosen Master's degree programme. Your previous studies must comply in quality, depth and breadth with the requirement profile of the Master's degree programme.

To candidates from Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschulen) specific admission conditions are applicable.

2. Application categories

Admission conditions depend on the university from which you obtained your Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree. Please see the corresponding application category for further details.

3. Language requirements

Adequate command of the language(s) of instruction (German and/or English) is required for admission.
