Transfer from another university
Commencement of study programme
From autumn 2011: first-time commencement of the Bachelor’s degree programme is only possible at the beginning of the Autumn Semester.
Recognition of study achievements
An application for the recognition of study achievements completed at another university may only be made if
- the prerequisites for admission without examination to the desired ETH degree programme have been satisfied
- the results of all study achievements for upcoming recognition have been issued by the original university
To obtain an ETH Bachelor’s degree a minimum of 120 out of a total of 180 ECTS credits must be acquired at ETH.
The decision on recognition of study achievements is generally only issued several weeks into the semester.

Readmission of ETH Zurich students
Readmission is possible at the beginning of the Spring Semester provided that the respective degree programme offers this possibility.
