Application

To apply, use one of the following online forms:

• Students with a Swiss Matura
• Students with other school-leaving certificates

Include a written statement that you are requesting recognition of study achievements.

Please note the specific information applying to readmission and entering the 3rd year of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Biotechnology (partner universities).

Basis for admission

The admissions decision regarding entry to the first semester of your chosen Bachelor’s degree programme (entry to an advanced semester is subject to an additional procedure) is taken on the basis of the Matura certificate and transcript of records current at the time of the application deadline (30 April). Admission is sometimes subject to an entrance examination. All academic certificates and study achievements which support admission without examination are listed in Art. 23-26 of the ‘Regulations Concerning Admission to ETH Zurich’.

Holders of the following qualifications have the right to admission without examination:

A) Swiss university qualifications

• First-level Swiss university qualification (Bachelor’s degree, Diplom: earlier longcycle degree, or Lizentiat)
• Bachelor’s degree or Diplom from a Swiss university of applied sciences
• Certification of at least 2 completed years of study (based upon the regular curriculum) at a Swiss university (not a university of applied sciences), including all corresponding examinations or a pass grade in the intermediate examinations; here admission without examination applies only to programmes in the previous discipline

B) Foreign university qualifications

1. Countries which have ratified the Lisbon Convention:
   • First-level university (but not university of applied sciences) qualification in a discipline which is also offered at university level in Switzerland (e.g. Bachelor’s degree, Diplom: earlier longcycle degree, state examinations)
   • Certification of at least 2 completed years of study (based upon the regular curriculum) at a university (but not a university of applied sciences), including all corresponding examinations or a pass grade in the intermediate examinations; here admission without examination applies only to programmes in the previous discipline
2. Other countries:
   • First-level university (but not university of applied sciences) qualification (e.g. Bachelor’s degree, Diplom: earlier longcycle degree, state examinations) in Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Engineering or Medicine

Holders of A) and B) must also supply proof of sufficient knowledge of German.
