Conferral of the Venia Legendi

• We give candidates advice on the form and content of the application for conferral of the Venia Legendi and the enclosures required in accordance with the Habilitation Ordinance of ETH Zurich of 2 June 2004.
• The submitted application is checked for completeness and forwarded to the relevant department. The department performs the habilitation procedure and submits the application to the Rector.
• Based on the decision by the Rector, the decree we be issued and certificated concerning the conferral of the Venia Legendi.

Renewal of the Venia Legendi

We notifiy senior lecturers that their Venia Legendi is about to expire during the semester prior to the expiry. At the same time any gaps in the performance of the teaching obligations are pointed out in accordance with Art. 11 of the Habilitation Ordinance of ETH Zurich of 2 June 2004.

The application for extension or resignation is forwarded to the respective department. At the request of the professors’ conference, we prepare the renewal or resignation decree.
