Tiered programmes
First year examinations (BP)
- The
first year examinations complete the first year of the Bachelor programme.
- The
first year examinations are always grouped into at least one examination block,
which means that all examinations have to be taken in the same session.
Bachelor
(BSc)
Master (MSc)
Additional requirements
- The
Admissions Committee examines the extent to which an applicant’s previous
education meets the prerequisites for enrolment on a programme. A lack of
previous knowledge must be compensated for by providing additional study
achievements – so-called additional requirements.
- In
accordance with the decision on admissions, these additional requirements may
be examined as individual examinations as well as individually compiled
examination blocks.
Master of Advanced Studies in Secondary and Higher Education (MAS SHE)
- The MAS SHE degree certifies
the successful completion of pedagogic-didactic training with regard to
teaching in the designated subjects at secondary schools (Kurz- and Langgymnasium), specialist
secondary schools, universities of applied sciences and other higher
educational establishments.
- The conferral of the MAS SHE
degree presupposes a corresponding Master degree (or a completed diploma
programme) and, if necessary, the fulfilment of additional specialist
requirements.

Teaching certificate (DZ)
- The teaching certificate
(DZ) certifies the successful completion of basic teacher training in the
respective subject. The granting of the teaching certificate presupposes a
corresponding university Master degree (or a completed diploma programme)
and, if necessary, the fulfilment of additional specialist requirements.
- The training may be
completed in parallel with a Bachelor or Master programme, during a
doctoral programme or on a part-time basis, alongside work.

Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) – ONLY FOR D-AGRL AND D-MTEC
- Master of Advanced Studies
(MAS) und Master of Business Administration (MBA) are continuing
university education programmes. As a general rule, they are geared to
academically trained senior staff and specialists who are in employment. They
are generally aimed at executives and specialists with an academic
background who work in companies, in universities or in the public
administration. They require a master degree (MSc, MA)
and professional experience or an equivalent educational status. In individual
cases, however, they can follow on directly from a master’s degree.

Non-tiered programmes
Final diploma (SD)
- The
final diploma examination covers individual examinations in the examination
subjects and a diploma thesis.
- The
examination subjects and any subdivision into subject examination blocks are
laid down in the diploma examination regulations.
- Depending
on the programme, both parts have to be taken either immediately after one
another or they can be spread over various sessions/semesters.
