The course catalogue is prepared by the schedule coordinators in each department. The process is coordinated by the Room and Course Scheduling of the Rectorate.
The planning process begins approximately six to eight months prior to the start of the semester (six for the spring semester and eight for the autumn semester).
The new semester is prepared by copying the data from the previous year.
Following the update, the data is revised by the departments over the period of four weeks.
Lecturers and examiners have seven weeks in which to check, correct or confirm their courses, exam information and catalogue details.
Changes are made via the eDoz web application. During this period, the departments can process the feedback of the lecturers and examiners.
Once the correction phase has been completed, changes can only be made by notifying the Schedule Office via e-mail, by telephone or in writing.
The catalogue data and the English titles can be entered and/or corrected at any time.
Once the correction phase for lecturers and examiners has been completed, the departments have a further two weeks in which to enter any requested changes.
Before it is published, the entire course catalogue is checked for completeness by the Schedule Office of the Rectorate.
Since teaching at ETH is, by its very nature, a dynamic affair, scheduling is never a completely finished process. Schedule coordinators can still make changes once the catalogue has been published.
The persons responsible for the examination information can make changes up until the Friday before the start of the semester. Examination information published in the course catalogue is binding for both the students and the examiners with effect from the start of the semester and thereafter may only be amended by the Schedule Office with the approval of the Prorector.
