myStudies: Check of the Request to Issue the Degree

If the request to issue the degree cannot (yet) be submitted, one of the following messages is displayed:

Too few credit points

The minimum credit points per category and in total specified in the regulations, and necessary to request the issue of the degree, are not yet present. As a rule in the Master programme the degree can already be requested even if the credit points from the Master thesis have not yet been decreed.

Check in the transcript of records to see whether you can modify the category assignment for individual performance assessments.

Request to issue the degree already submitted

The request to issue the degree has already been submitted. It can be printed out again, but not submitted a second time.

Additional requirements not satisfied

The additional requirements, i.e. additional performance assessments defined at the start of the study programme, or additional credit points in particular categories, have not yet been achieved. The performance assessments taken into account here are evident under “Additional requirements” on the transcript of records.

Specialisation not selected

If the regulations prescribe that one/several specialisation(s) must be selected by the date of the request to issue the degree at the latest, this is checked by myStudies. If they are missing, they must first of all be defined via the “Specialisation” button on the “Matriculation” page.

Reminder for an open invoice

There exists a reminder for an open invoice. The request to issue the degree cannot be submitted until the invoice has been paid and booked.

Submit the degree

When the conditions are fulfilled, the request to issue the degree can be submitted. Insofar as the regulations make provision for it, specialisations (majors, focus area, minors) are displayed. The fact that the selected specialisations are correct must be confirmed by crossing the box “The correct specialisations have been selected”. If this is not correct, go back and change the selection on the “Specialisation” page.

If the message “You have sufficient credit points to submit your request to issue the degree” appears, “Continue” is used to display the request to issue the degree, with the sections “Academic record”, “Addendum” and “Performances not listed anywhere”.
