Last possible date

States the deadline to achieve the designated study programme completion.

Examinations must be taken at the latest in the examination session following the semester displayed (i.e. in the summer session for the spring semester and in the winter session for the autumn semester).

Enrolment

Students enrol here at the start of the semester for the next semester.

First of all the personal address information is displayed so you can check it and correct it if necessary.

If there is a reservation about regular continuation of study (e.g. if a programme deadline cannot be adhered to), registration is impossible. A different page is displayed instead.

For students with a reminder for an open invoice the enrolment for the next semester is blocked. The enrolment will not be possible until the invoice has been paid and booked.

Students of the University of Zurich who enrol for courses as auditors at ETH Zurich have to authenticate for every semester enrolment at their home university. By clicking the button “Enrolment” the side of Switch is shown where the home university (not ETH Zurich) has to be chosen. Then the authentication with the login/password of the home university has to be done. After the successful authentication the enrolment process in myStudies will be continued.

Qualifying_exam

Doctoral students who have to take a qualifying exam can enter the appointed date in this function. The results of qualifying exams taken can be viewed there as well.

Registration

Here, you can register for the courses which you wish to attend. This function can only be used if an enrolment for the next semester exists.

Course units for which you have registered then displayed in the schedule. (Note: see the special remarks on the page explaining the schedule).

As a basic principle, attending a course without a registration is not permitted.

If under "Search result" the box "without structural information" is ticked, every learning units will be listed only once and without programme information. The programme information can be obtained in the detail of the course unit in section "Offered in".

Specialisation

The “Specialisation” function is displayed only for degree programmes in which specialisations can be pre-selected. For example majors, a focus area or minors are described as specialisation.

Examinations

• All of the information about examinations: registration deadline, dates of the next examination session, registered examinations.
• Registration for examinations for the next examination session or at the end of the semester.
• Withdrawal from registered examinations.

Transcript of records

The transcript of records contains all the performance assessments decreed and credits of the corresponding degree programme and the current regulations.

Request to issue the degree

As soon as sufficient credit points are available, the request to issue the degree can be submitted here.

Master programme

This button is displayed as soon as sufficient credit points for a transfer to a Master programme are available in a Bachelor programme.

For students with a reminder for an open invoice the change into a master programme is not possible. The button will not be displayed until the invoice has been paid and booked.
