myStudies: Request for Leave of Absence

Two consecutive semesters on leave of absence can be taken without any problems.

An additional semester on leave of absence must be specially requested and in particular approved.

Procedure

In this case the page “Apply for leave of absence” is displayed. A justification must be communicated via e-mail to the Registrar’s Office. The latter checks the request and communicates the decision by e-mail.

Apart from address changes, nothing should be amended until the decision – in particular there should be no registration.

Please note

• It is necessary to check whether the programme deadlines (maximum programme duration etc.) can still be adhered to in spite of the leave of absence.
• If the leave of absence is associated with a change of degree programme, an e-mail must be sent to the Registrar’s Office.
