Glossary

Important terms

Information

The lists for export contain more information than is displayed directly in the application. For example, each person’s e-mail address, correspondence address and all selected specialisations can be exported. This data can be, for example, imported into your own e-mail client or used for mail merge functions.

File format

The export file is a TXT file which can be opened and edited in any application.

Specialisations

The files that can be exported using the communication functions list all the specialisations for all students, if they are available. For more information see the appropriate page.

Export/import of lists of grades / results

Please see the special notes.

Opening TXT files (e.g. in Excel) on a Mac

Please note that files exported from eDoz are Windows formatted TXT files. If these files are opened on a Mac without converting, umlauts and special characters are lost.

For example, if you are using Excel for further editing:

Beispiel File open Mac

open the exported file in Excel. In the dialogue box which comes up (see example below), you have to select “Windows (ANSI)” as the origin of the file, instead of the default setting “Macintosh”.
